PURPOSE BEHIND EVERY PURCHASE.
CURA Cafe was founded on the belief that coffee helps to weave a thread of connection among cultures and people around the world!
Our cafe is a not-for-profit coffee company where 100% of our net proceeds give back to our humanitarian missions around the world. We partner with local distributors for high-quality coffee beans to deliver an amazing experience to you while also providing life saving resources such as medicine, food gardens, water wells and bicycles for children living far from their schools.
Cura Café
Cura Cafe’s model hinges on sustainability, small business empowerment, and humanitarianism. Our coffee beans are fully traceable down to the farm or cooperative level, ensuring fair pay for producers. Our coffee beans come from areas where Cura for the world 🌍 humanitarian projects are operating. We were able to identify farms from local communities that would provide us with great quality beans. Coming full circle with the help of the 2018 U.S. Roaster Champion has been amazing and we can’t wait to share with you our products. With every purchase, proceeds go towards our medical missions and you, the consumer, are welcome to come trek with us to Africa or South America once a year on these missions if you like. Stay tuned.
To see humanity, to reach the unreachable, and find one another. To heal, nourish, and embrace the neglected.
OUR MISSION
Save a life
Here you see a picture of Cura for the world’s first international clinic. Built in the Luwero district in Uganda with partnership with Project Orphans who operates the clinic to serve the village and surrounding areas. Since 2016 Cura for the world opened clinics in Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Peru, and is currently in the process of building one in Burundi.
Imagine that $5 can purchase malaria treatment and save a life. $100 could fix a child’s hernia and $200 could help not only deliver a baby, but get them the postnatal care they need with life saving vaccines.
We thank you for choosing our Coffee today. We know you have many other options but your choice to support our mission has impacted someone’s life forever.
Feed a family, Feed a community.
The picture you see to the right was taken in Rwanda by our partners at Humanity Unified International. Cura for the world started its sustainable agriculture mission in 2017 by partnering with Mainsprings in Tanzania, a non profit organization on the banks of lake Victoria. We were able to help them create greenhouses to help feed the students at their school for girls. Our partners went on to create one of the most successful agricultural projects in east Africa: Creating the Permaculture Institute of Tanzania to help educate farmers and local leaders on how to sustainably farm their lands.
As part of Cura’s growth, our focus now also includes smaller projects:
Permagardens - as well as other community projects
Food Forests - Our partners in Rwanda, Humanity Unified International are in consultative status with the United Nations and have done incredible work in Rwanda. We are hoping to expand our reach to help smaller families sustain their lives with year long food supply.
Clean water
Thus far, Cura for the world has only been able to create one sustainable water source to a village through a water well. However, at this moment in our story we are looking for innovative partners to create a sustainable solution to the water crisis around the world.
Expense has always been an issue as we feel that our method is simple: Low cost - High impact.
Stay tuned to hear what is next.
Sports teams that change the world.
Imagine a child walking miles barefoot or with flip-flops to school every day. Having to waking up early, sometimes walking in the dark to be able to get to school in the morning. The risks associated with these daily trips are alarming; our cycling team is ready for the challenge.
Our first team: Cura Racing - founded by Austin Edgar in 2020.
Cura for the world is planning to create multiple teams for upcoming races.
